About Philipp Röttgers
Philipp Röttgers is a historian, author, literary agent and cultural communicator based in Germany.
His work combines historical research, storytelling and public engagement, bringing together disciplines that are often treated separately. Through books, lectures, cultural projects and international collaborations, he explores the intersections between history, literature, music and popular culture.
Particular areas of interest include Victorian London, Jack the Ripper, Sherlock Holmes, progressive rock, Genesis, Phil Collins and the cultural history of Britain.
In addition to his work as an author, Philipp is the founder of Opera Scriptorium, a literary agency representing authors and connecting manuscripts with publishers in Germany and beyond. He is also the creator of London Beyond Time and Place, a platform dedicated to London’s history, literature, music and cultural heritage.
As a musician, he is a drummer and founding member of the progressive metal band PARIAHLORD.
